"Memories.
They have the power to influence our futures and shape our choices. They can be either make or shatter a person’s life. They are what we turn to when life gives us the sourest of lemons, they are there to remind us of our faults. Memories are forever...aren’t they?
There is an old story about how the death of a butterfly in the past can drastically alter the future. The same could be said about a person’s altered memory. How a person feels, how they view things could be changed in an instant by altering their memories.
It is the year 1999, through the effots of the British Ministry of Magic and the ‘secret’ mission of Harry Potter, the dark lord known as Voldemort has finally been vanquished. Many lives were lost, on both sides. Many of the central, inner circle death eaters still cling to the memory of their fallen master, seeking revenge by any methods.
The leader of the death eater remnant, Bellatrix Lestrange is the most furious of them all, seemingly having lost more than the others. In the so-called “final battle,” the dark lord was betrayed by the young Draco Malfoy, having destroyed the final horcrux, Nagini the snake. In doing so, he allowed the destruction of the dark lord. In a fit of rage, the elder Lucius Malfoy sought revenge by attempting the kill his son. The intervention of his mother, Narcissa was pointless, leaving her dead as a result. This senseless act of murder on her sister forced the Lestrange to destroy her brother-in-law, weakening their forces even more so. It was all this which made Bellatrix contemplate another course of action, time travel.
The act of time-travel of course, is a very restricted and dangerous act. Miss Lestrange knew that using this method, she could save everything that she held so dear in her life. So, she sacrificed everything she had left to do so.
After mustering the final remnants of the death eater ranks, Bellatrix commanded a raid on the ministry of magic, ultimately appearing as a major defeat and final destruction of the death eater forces, with only a single body missing from the deaths, that of miss Bellatrix Lestrange. For the true intention of the attack was not to seize the ministry, but instead, something much, much smaller...a single time turner.
The entire attack had been nothing more than a distraction for Bellatrix, she in truth knew that an attempted seizing of the ministry would result in the decimation of her forces, Lestrange wasn’t an idiot. Her numbers were nothing more than puppets in her master plan. After seizing the last remaining time turner, Bellatrix used the time turner in conjunction with a spell to send her years in the past, to a pivotal point in time for the world’s future, the year that James Potter and Lily Evans would find love in each other.
Her primary intention was to sneak through the Hogwarts wards, possibly under a disguise and simply murder one of the two future lovers. However, upon her arrival, she realized such a task would not be so easy.
Even in his ‘younger’ days, Albus Dumbledore was quite wise in his ways. Had she even attempted a murder, she would have been caught and it would have been over for her future world. She would have to employ stealth unbeknownst to the world before, she would have to become a student. Bellatrix Lestrange would have to de-age a couple of decades before she could carry out her plan.
After finding her place in the new timeline, she uses the imperius curse to take control of a Hogsmeade apothecary, supplying her with a virtually endless supply of polyjuice potion. She has as well, found the perfect student to take over, a seventh year Ravenclaw half-blood, Karissa Morgan.
Nobody would ever expect the reclusive, yet beautiful Ravenclaw of holding such a dirty little secret, of harboring the soul and mind of the death eater queen. Nobody would expect such a thing, why should they? It’s the perfect plan.
Memories.
An instant in time can change a person’s memory forever, it can alter a life changing event, it can change a person’s whole outlook on life. A memory can be forever shattered, or new ones can be formed. That is the intent of Bellatrix Lestrange’s plan, to reconstruct memories, to alter an entire future."
