Snape stopped walking and turned on his heel to face her. "your right, you're worse then a niave Gryffindor" he snapped "you're just as bad as him....as Potter and his followers" he sneered, his wand pointed at her slightly. "you think you're all that, just like everyone of them" he hissed, his robes that he even wore outside of school billowing around him in the wind. "cowards!" Snape laughed, "yea...because i feel the need to be surrounded by other people before i attack just like saint Potter....i think you need to open your eyes Thomas" he said again.

Adrienne pulled out her wand faster then Snape could have anticipated. She was about to hex him into next tuesday, when she pulled back, a growl of frustration leaving her lips. "Now I know why James and Sirius find it so damn hard to leave you alone," she said. She wanted nothing more then the hex Snape until he couldnt find his way back home, but she couldnt. She wasnt going to be like them. "You just beg for it, dont you?" he definitly didnt make it easy for himself.
Adrienne turned on her heel, and began to walk away. She walked, carefully, down the steep hill, making sure not to slip as she stepped from rock to rock.

Snape tensed and let his wand drop slightly as she turned away. "you're wrong" he said after her as he sat down on the large rock the book opening at where he had last stopped reading. "so wrong" he whispered under his breath. 'you just beg for it' he shuddered, he didnt beg, it was called defense. He nodded, he wasnt going to let them get to him...let her get to him. He was stronger then that, he pushed his hair form his eyes and began to read. The more he told himself that he wasn't what they called him - a coward, the more he started to believe it.

"Im not!" Adrienne called back, when she heard Snape calling after her. He was a coward, not like James who went around in his group bullying Snape, but because he wouldnt look anyone in the eyes-- because he was scared to show anyone who he really was-- because he hid away in shadows, instead of facing the real world, the one they all lived in. Everything he did was because he was scared, and that was what made him as much a coward as any of the Griffindor boys he was so fond of slagging. The ironic thing was that, when put in a fight, it was the Griffindors who would fight fair, and fight for anyone who needed it, and the Slytherins who would rather save their own ass.

Snape tried to read but his mind was else where now. His heart thumping in his chest, the memories of being alone, haunting his mind. His father calling him a coward when he ran away from home. She had no idea. He clentched his fists and took a few deep breaths. He might be selfish, but he certainly wasnt a coward.
