Adrienne walked through the streets of hogsmead, wearing casual clothes; jeans, and a zipped up hooded top. Her hood was up, and her log dark hair fell down past her shoulders. She had her headphones from her iPod in her ears (she had charmed it in her 5th year to work on magic) and was listening to music which drowned out the chatter of people on the streets.
Walking past all of the usual shops, and the happy shoppers, Adrienne made her way up to the shrieking shack. There were very strong rumours that it was haunted, but the idea far from put Adrienne off the place. She carried on walking, the path getting narrower and narrower, until she was walking on a thin patch where the grass had been worn down, that could hardly be called a path. The shops around her had now been replaced by trees, and the ground beneath her had fallen into the steep incline of a hill. There were rocks on the ground that Adrienne stepped over, until finally the path was gone, and she was climbing over tree roots and rocky patches. She got up to a area of large rocks, covered in moss and with trees growing off them. She put one foot on a large, winding tree root, and pushed herself up. She stood on top of a large rock, looking at it; the shrieking shack.

Severus was bent over a book reading quietly, away from everyone. Away from the name-calling, the childishness and popularity of Potter and his gang. His eye scanned over the words, the book only inches form his face. He heard a twig snap and he closed the book with a slam, and put it under his arm as he stood up form behind his rock that had been his shelter from any unwelcomed company. His wand was drawn and his dark hair fell infront of his eyes.
He immediatley saw the person who had caught his attention, seeing as she was only a few feet away form him, actually standing on the rock he had been crouched beside. His wand pointed at her face, though as he realised that it was just a girl, he lowered it ever so slightly, though he didnt say a word.

Adrienne hadnt heard him move, but the headphones in her ear didnt distract her from someone pointing a wand at her. She raised her eyebrow as she saw who it was; Severus Snape, or 'Snivellus' as he was more widely known as. He was a slytherin in her year, and she had never liked him. She had seen him talking with Lilly, a girl in her year, and had never figured out why, however, although she wasnt Snapes biggest fan, she didnt like what James and Sirus did to him; it was bullying, no matter what they said.
Adrienne pulled her headphones out of her ears, and looked at Snape, jumping down from the rock, and landing beside him. "Jumpy today, are we?"

Severus wrinkled his forehead. "no" he said defensively "just being prepared" he said and lowered his wand further, though he didnt put it away. "what's a Gryffindor like yourself, doing so close to what can only be described as Slytherin territory?" he asked adjusting the book under his arm as it was beginning to slip.

"You Slytherins think you own everything. What will it be next? Slytherin patch of grass? Slytherin bookshelf? Slytherin toilet?" she laughed slightly, and walked past Snape, moving slightly closer to the Shack, looking up at it. "You dont own anything." she said, slightly quieter then before, as she stared at the shack. In the end they would pass on, probobly never return to the Shack again, but the Shack itself would remain, and the ghosts and storys that surrounded it would live on.

Snape stiffened at her words "i do!" he said again standing defensively and turning as she walked closer "i own lots of things" he said and flicked his hair out his face slightly, but it fell straight away back into his eyes. "you Gryffindors think that you're Gods....Gods sent from heaven to protect the earth from us Slytherins, and people call us dilusional" Snape muttered standing his ground.
The wind dropped and Severus put the book on the ground infront of his seeing as it was heavy and making his arm get pins and needles. He watched her carefully, he knew she was friends with Lily, well he had seen them together and his felt a pang of jealously that played havoc with the expression on his face.

Adrienne turned around, a slight smile on her face, and her mouth open with a retort. They didnt think they were gods, and she found the idea amusing, but the look on Snapes face made her mouth close, and the smile fade slightly. It confused her, a lot, and she couldnt understand him. She never had. She got the impression no one did. But a part of her knew that she had never really tried... she had never seen Snape as someone that would have feelings like the ones showing on his face. She knew it was his own damn fault, however, because he was a moody git. But still, she knew she could have tried harder. She liked to think of herself as an open person, who stood up for people like Snape, but then again, she hadnt done much to stop what happened to him. She had done some things, gotten the boys to shut up, but how much could that help the boy standing in front of her?

Snape quickly glanced at his wad then back up, all traces of emotion wiped form his face. He heard some shouts echo from the street beyond the line of trees behind them. His lip twitched as he heard someone call after 'James'. Though he managed to keep his face controlled the grip on his wand tightened and his knuckles turned white. He turned away form Adrienne and walked towards the shack, storming past her, leaving his book on the rock forgetting it was there. He didnt like to think he was running away, though he knew James and his followers wouldnt have any business near the shrieking shack, they didnt know he was here. He liked to believe that he was instead saving himself the trouble of having to kick Potter's ass, though he knew that wasnt entirely the case.

Adrienne had been about to speak, when she too heard someone calling after James. She sighed as Snape pushed past her, but made no move to try to stop him. She knew he just wanted out of her, and with all the stick she got from James and his friends, she didnt blame him. She looked up at the Shack, as Snape walked up to it, before looking at the rock where his book lay. She realised he must have forgotten it, and let out a frustrated noise as she knew she couldnt just leave it there. She walked over and picked it up, before following Snape quickly up the hill. "Wait?" she called after him, trying to catch up.

Snape had reached the front of the shack and was trying to push the door open, knowing that if he got inside he wouldnt be bother by anyone else - just the way he liked it. Then Adrienne's voice rang out over the sound of his breathing from walking fast up the hill. He was about to snap at her and ask her to bugger off. But then he realised that she had the book on her hands. "thanks" he said, though his tone had no gratitude in it. He put on hand out to receive the book.
His eyes didnt meet with hers, his hair covering most of his face. He never liked to look people in the eye, he alwasy felt too open, like they could look right into his mind. He instead focused on the book in her hands.

Adrienne was only slightly out of breath, as she was used to running. She ran all the time, and although she enjoyed quidditch, she preferred running. She held out the book for Snape, and noticed how he didnt look at her. His eyes were fixed firmly on the book, and she didnt know if he was just rude or moody. Either way, she wasnt having it, and her eyes locked on his with a slight hardness, holding onto the book and not letting go until he looked up at her face.

Snape's lip curled, something he was to perfect in later life. He slowly brought his eyes up to meet hers, though they didnt show anything, he made sure of that. He didnt want her to see that he infact didnt want her to leave, that he wanted to question her about Lily, to find out more about James to see what he could use against him. He kept it all hidden, he raised an eyebrow as if to suggest that she should let go of the book now. His fingers clasped around it tightly.

Adrienne let go of the book, not smiling at Snape's less then polite response. "Thats better," she said, refferring to him meeting her eyes. "You should look people in the face more often. They might think you've got something to hide." Adrienne wasnt being ignorant; she was in no doubt that Snape had something to hide. Why else would he sulk in the shadows? Why else would he sit at the back of classes, never talking to anyone? Why would he never meet anyones eye, if he didnt have something he didnt want them to see?

Snape took the book and held onto it tightly with one hand the other still grapsing his wand. "Why give your enemies that advantage of being able to read you like a book?" he asked his voice quiet yet strong. "i dont want anyone to be able to read me" he said and shook his head, like he had already said too much to her. "you gryffindors can be so niave" he said and pushed the door again, though it wouldnt budge, he scowled before making back off towards the rock he had been crouched behind.

Adrienne scowled as Snape said she was niave. Well, actually, he said Griffindors were niave, but that was even worse. "Well at least Im not a Slytherin, and by association, all Slytherins must be greasy, moody cowards." she hated steryotypes. The Slytherins who didnt know her made the mistake of thinking she was 'nice' and a pushover, but how wrong they were. Adrienne had a fiery temper, and a whole other side to her, if you got on it. She would gladly take anyone who pushed her too far, and make it a fair fight.
