Ginny walked though the school slowly, she was amazed that it was so quiet. She wondered where everyone was. Not really knowing what she should do, she walked to the great hall and sat at the Gryffindor Table and sat down at the end of it. The fiery red head placed her bag on the table and searched though it until she found the book she was looking, she smiled to herself and picked up her bag and moved it to the floor.
Looking around for a second she sighed again and went back to the book about Hogwarts, it didn't have all the stuff that the one back in 1997 had but it was still every interesting. She smiled as she started to doze off a little as she continued to read.
It was so quiet, to quiet for her liking. Hoping to god that someone would talk to her, and couple of ghost floated by and waved to her but that was about it. She put her book down and just stared at the hall, thinking about what she was going to do if she ran into her mom or dad. " Where is Ron, Harry and Hermione when you need someone to talk too?" she asked herself softly.

The brunette stood, leaning against the wall just inside the staff room behind the table in the Great Hall. He was a rather good looking, casually dressed man with slightly ruffled dark hair. His eyes scanned his surroundings like he was seeing everything for the first time. Of course, he wasn't. He'd worked at Hogwarts for at least a year before this time, and even before that, he'd been in that room to discuss things with Professor Dumbledore. Dumbledore was unlike anything the young man - if you could call twenty four young when eleven year olds were running around - ever met. He was something of a mentor and a reflection of what the man wanted to be. Of course, he also wanted to be different.
He was Julien. He was an attractive man in his early twenties with deep blue eyes and dark brown hair. He wore a button down with the sleeves rolled up, a pair of black trousers and a black robe over it. A cigarette rested between his lips. He reached up and, with two fingers, pulled the cigarette from his mouth and blew the smoke out. His cigarette break was close to over and with one last, deep hit, he flicked it away, stepped on it, and made his way out into the empty great hall.
Empty with exception of one, younger, Gryffindor girl. Julien, remembering seeing this young lady walking with Hermione and Blaze - two pupils he quite liked to be around - blew the last of the smoke out through his nose and made his way over. Stopping just in front of the girl, he smiled down at her.
"Bonjour," he greeted, his thick French accent lingering longer than the cigarette smoke did. "What brings joo 'ere, mademoiselle? All of the students are 'anging around the castle. You should be wit' them, no?"
His accent was much too thick to hide. It didn't matter much to him. He was easy to understand and it only gave students reason to listen closer. Thank god for being French.

Luna was skipping though the halls when she stopped when she heard Ginny and another talking, she was curious and decided to see what was going on. Turning so she was facing the doors she smiled and started to hum as she skipped down the row of tables. Stopping just short of the two others in the giant room. Luna stared at the Professor for a minute and then laughed as he asked Ginny why she was in alone in the great hall.
"Well I must say she is not alone, Professor" she said with a smile. The blond smiled to him and sat next to Ginny. " Hey we all have been looking for you" she said not really paying an attention to the professor standing there. She looked around it was odd that she was at the gryffindor table and not her real house ravenclaw.
Shaking her head she looked up at the Professor, "You know smoking is an ugly and gross habit" she said in her odd tone. She was not sure if she liked this guy or not.

Ginny didn't hear or see anyone coming close to her until he spoke "Bonjour" she heard his accent and smelled the smoke. The young red haired girl looked up from her book and took in the man talking to her, she was amazed that he stopped to talk to her. Being a little uncomfortable in this new time she stayed quiet for a minute and then smiled " Sometimes people need time away from siblings and friends don't you think?" she asked as she smiled a sweet smile.
She stared at him for a minute, he was hot and she tried not to blush as she had that thought. She laughed as she realized that she understood every word he said. Thank god for Fleur and her accent help her understand Professor LeBeau prefectly. She leaned back when she heard someone humming and skipping down the hall and then out of no where Luna appeared.
She rolled her eyes as the blonde girl came up to them and sat next to her. "Luna if they were looking for me they would be here" she said a little annoyed. But she shrugged it off as Luna continued to act her norm odd self, she had to admit she was getting used to the girl and her odd behavior. She almost yelled at Luna for her rude words to Professor LeBeau. "Luna that was not nice to say if he wants to smoke he is old enough to do it" she spoke softly so that only Luna could hear her. "Professor LeBeau how are you today?" she asked even though it was not what she was thinking about asking, she wanted to know what to do if she ran into her future mother or father. She closed her eyes and started to think about it and how she wanted to tell Harry but she wouldn't stress him out with her fears.

The scent of the cigarette smoke was already half way gone by then. He'd only had one cigarette that day - which was odd on Julien as he usually had several by one afternoon. However, he was glad the bittersweet scent of tobacco was nearly gone. He was, after all, talking to a student, and the last thing he wanted to do was give them a cough. However, the girl seemed to laugh cheerfully and that made Julien cock his eyebrow slightly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He quite liked Ginny. She had three brothers there with her - that he knew of - and she refused to be left unnoticed. If that wasn't courage, then what was?
Julien's eyes moved up to the young dirty blonde that skipped into the hall. His smiled widened as the name 'Lovegood' shot into his head. He knew nearly every student by heart, and something that made them distinct to the others, as Julien was a very observant soul. The Weasleys for their fiery red hair, Ms. Lovegood for her innocent, odd nature. It was refreshing to have students that didn't all look the same.
"It's alright, Ginny." Julien stated as Luna commented on his smoking habit. Lifting his leg, he placed his foot on the bench opposite of them and leaned toward, his brilliant blues flashing as he looked the young lady in the eyes. "Bad times call for bad 'abits. You see, nargils 'ave eaten all of my socks. It's quite depressing when you 'ave classes to teach. Of course, nargils don't care what your schedule calls for."
Julien was quite aware of Luna's fascination for nargils. If anything would win her over, it might be that.
"I'm just fine. 'Ow are you two 'olding up?" he asked, smiling.

Luna blinked as she looked at Ginny. She nodded and stayed quiet knowing that it was mean of her to say. She looked around in her dreamy and dazed looked hoping that one of the others would come in and join them, she was at home around them. "Ginny we should go maybe the others are outside, I would love to go visit the Thestrals" she said with a smile on her face knowing that the red haired girl could not see them.
Luna's head twisted almost as she heard him say something about nargils she looked at his socks and giggled a little " You see the nargils are playing tricks on you, they don't eat things. They just take then so don't worry though you'll get it all back at the end of the year or when you are not looking for it" she said with a smile.
Luna blinked her dreamy eyes " Can you please tell me more about what you know about nargils ? I thought I was the only one that knew about them" she said in an interested tone. For once since she got here she was started to relax alittle, and in the back of her mind she wondered if she would get to see her mother. She shook her and the smiled again " I guess I am fine" she answered him softly.

Ginny had stopped listening to the other two as she started to think about everything, she was nervous but would never let it show, being the youngest of seven taught her that, not to mention the fact she is the only girl. She thought about how Percy did not want them to go and maybe he was right but then again, she trusted Harry and the others and knew deep down this was right. She sighed as Luna knocked her out of her thoughts " Luna you know I can't see them, why don't you go" she said with a smile on her face.
She laughed as Luna quickly was caught by the professors words about Nargils. Personally she thought that Nargils was just an excuse for Luna to feel better when her stuff was taken. She turned her head and laughed again " Be careful what you say Professor Luna here is a nargil expert" she said jokingly.
When he asked how they were holding up, Ginny looked away " I'm doing good" she said with out looking at Luna or Professor LeBeau. Ginny turned again " So what is going to happen when school starts?"

Post by Albus Dumbledore on Aug 3, 2007 21:57:26 GMT -5
Dumbledore sauntered casually into the spacious Great Hall, beaming brightly at all of the students as he gazed around, a twinkle in his piercing sky-blue eyes. Directing his gaze towards the crowded Gryffindor table, he perceived Julien, Luna, and Ginny conversing animatedly with each other, a comforting sight. Dumbledore had been slightly worried for the wellbeing of the Time-Travelers, unsure of how they would deal with being placed in a new time so suddenly. But since that fear had now been dispersed, Dumbledore strode swiftly over to the table, having the urge to check on his new charges.
Rays of bright sunlight streamed through the immense Great Halls windows, illuminating Dumbledore's weathered face as he moved towards the new students.
Drawing nigh with the small group, Dumbledore heard Ginny say as he approached, " What is going to happen when school starts?"
Deciding to answer her question, Dumbledore replied in a kind voice," You will continue with your normal routine as you did at Salem Academy." Lowering his voice so that only the other three of them could hear, he continued," You will play the part of a normal student at Hogwarts for the most part, though on Hogsmeade trips as well as selected weekends, I will arrange for you to carry out your business with Voldemort. You must act as though nothing is happening; nothing is wrong. You must try to be as average as possible, do not attempt to overly distinguish yourselves in any way, at least not in public."
Peering at the the students over his half-moon spectacles, Dumbledore waited for a prudent answer from one of those present.

[[sorry a reply took so long!]]
Julien's tiny smirk widened into a boyish smile as he seemed to gain Luna's attention and trust. He had to admit, he quite liked Luna. In the time he'd known her - which, actually, wasn't very long at all - he'd taken to her quickly. She always seemed upbeat, skipping through the halls, humming and all that sort of thing. Even the talk about nargils was welcomed warmly by the 24 year old man.
While his other students - from the previous year - all wanted to be so mature, so brilliant, they forgot they were still children and needed to at least try and act as such. Julien, truthfully, despised someone trying to act a decade older than what they really were. However, he admired someone that acted younger than they really were. To an extent.
Just as Julien was about to begin a little lecture on nergils, his attention turn to Albus who stood, his usual twinkle in his brilliant blue eyes as bright as ever. Smiling, Julien gestured to Luna that it would have to wait before whispering back to Dumbledore. "I was 'oping to present this to all the Time Travelers together."
However, his voice remained respectful.

Luna frowned a little has he stopped when he was about to tell her everything she wanted to know about Nargils. She turned her head to see what she thought was a ghost, she still couldn't get used to the loveable Head Master being still alive. He was a sight for sore eyes though. Even though Luna never got to talk to him, she liked the way he was always there for the students. She looked at Ginny who she could tell was thinking the small thing and smiled to the Head Master.
"Excuse me Head Master Dumbledore, what will the other students say about us not being on the train?" she said in her dreamy yet almost insane tone. She was not really liking having to be in Gryffindor, she missed her Ravenclaw colors and common area, she was not sure what to do or act in Gryffindor. She was not sure what to say to either Professor so she just relaxed and prayed to Ginny would come up with something.
she was a little scared to speak knowing that the one wrong thing said could change history as they knew it. She looked at Ginny and then to the Professor " Will I get to see my Mother?" she asked with out thinking.

Ginny was in her own thoughts, she really didn't want to listen to a lecture on a thing that might not be real. A gingerly voice caught her attention and she smiled "Hello Professor Dumbledore" she said happily and nodded at his answer, she knew the story would work she just hoped that she could get though this and home. "Luna is right whats going to happen when we are not on the train?" she asked worried.
She looked at Professor LeBeau as he spoke to Dumbledore. She acted nice to them only because it was the right thing to do, she really didn't trust anyone in this time. Everyone was different. She sighed as she heard getting them all together " We haven't even found them all get so that might be harder then it sounds Professors" she said then her face turned towards Luna with her mouth open.
Jumping she grabbed the blond and covered her mouth " Luna don't think such things, we are not here to change the past only to really try and change one thing" she knew she was being hard on the girl but she also didn't want to see the girl hurt, they could not change the fact that Luna's mother passed at birth. She looked at the two Professors for help.
